Apartments, especially, have increased in value, a new study says. Prices per square metre prices rose 8.5 percent year-on-year. The last time prices increased this dramatically was at the beginning of the 1990’s. On average, one has to pay 2,209 Euros per square metre for a privately-owned apartment. The highest prices are in the HafenCity with up to 5,243 Euros per square metre. In the east and the south of Hamburg, prices are cheaper.
Houses, too, increased in value - with a rise of 1.7 per cent. The average price for a square metre is now 2,275 Euros. It is expected that property prices will see a further increase in the coming years.
