WWII bomb dismantled in Wilhelmsburg

A bomb from World War II, which was found earlier yesterday, caused havoc for the public transport system and for people living close-by. The bomb was defused yesterday evening at 8 p.m.
5,000 people had to leave their homes as a security zone was introduced around the area where the bomb was found. The police organised shelter in two schools. When the police secured the area, the road traffic was affected first; later during the day, public transport buses and trains, as well as long distance trains, were interrupted or diverted.
At 8.38 p.m. the bomb was dismantled and normal service was resumed.
