Right Livelihood Awards to be announced on Oct 1 Sven Bergström, Chairman of the Society for the Right Livelihood Award in the Swedish Parliament; Marianne Andersson, Member of the Board and Jury of the Right Livelihood Award Foundation; and Ole von Uexkull, Executive Director, will announce the 2008 Right Livelihood Award Recipients at a press conference in the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Press Room on October 1 at 10 am CET. Jakob von Uexkull, founder of the Award, will be available for interviews on the phone. 91 candidates from 44 countries were proposed for the Right Livelihood Awards this year, whereof 47 from industrialized and 44 from "developing" countries.
