The GAL Hamburg is facing one of its most serious crises to date. Tonight, a general meeting of party members will decide about whether to suspend the coalition with the CDU. Several petitions to leave the coalition are on the table. The crisis started after GAL senator Anja Hajduk agreed to the construction of the CO2-emitting coal-power plant in Moorburg. Preventing the construction of the power plant had been one of the most important election goals of the GAL.
