Annette Schavan (CDU), Federal Minister of Education and Research, has proposed the introduction of single-sex education.

In an interview with the Hamburger Abendblatt, Schavan said single-sex education would be more beneficial for students, particularly in subjects such as languages and science. The proposal has been welcomed, in principle, by Hamburg’s school senator and deputy mayor, Christa Goetsch (GAL), according to the Abendblatt.
