Manhunt underway after brutal supermarket robberies
The police are looking for a 20- to 25-year-old German man. He is between 163 and 170 cm tall and has short, light blond hair. Photo: Polizei Hamburg For days now, the young man has kept the police on edge. Last Friday, he robbed a Lidl supermarket on Eidelstedter Weg. There he stabbed a man in the stomach, then held a cashier hostage and demanded money. Earlier in the day, he had already robbed an Edeka market in Eimsbüttel, where he also injured a man with a knife. Last week, he hit five supermarkets altogether and injured three people, one seriously. Police say that the pattern of the robberies leaves no doubt that they were committed by the same person. A manhunt is ongoing, but the robber appears to have gone into hiding. Police advise that anyone witnessing a supermarket robbery should keep his/her head and not offer resistance.
