Dubraska, 67, killed her former husband, Miroslav, 57, before shooting herself. Neighbors on Lüdersring saw the man fall between parked cars after four shots to the stomach. They then watched Ms. Dubraska run a few meters and shoot herself in the head. In her pocket, police officers found a letter in which the Croatian woman explained that her Yugoslavian husband had left her after she had helped him obtain legal residence in Germany. Previous to the shooting, police had been investigating the couple to find out whether their "marriage" was real or fictitious.
