A whiff of the island of Sylt on Hamburg's international tennis tournament
Michael Stich (l.), the director of Hamburg's international tennis tournament, and Herbert Seckler (r.), the most famous restaurant owner in Sylt, are looking forward to their cooperation. From July 18 until 26 the visitors of the International German Open at Hamburger Rotherbaum will not only be presented world class tennis. Thanks to Herbert Seckler they will also feel a whiff of Sylt, Germany's favourite holiday island. The owner of the beach restaurant "Sansibar", will be responsible for the catering of the tournament. On Saturday, he and the farmer Wimbledon winner Michael Stich, who is the director of the tennis tournament, signed a contract. During the tournament Herbert Seckler will not only delight the VIPs with his delicacies. There will also be a public stand, where visitors can try for example his famous curried sausage or buy exclusive Sansibar food products as well as Sansibar fashion. On Friday, Herbert Seckler opened his first shop in Hamburg's Hanse Viertel, a shopping arcade in the city centre. Register to read more...
