Viewing the film with the deceptive title „The Lovely Bones“ is a harrowing experience. It starts off with Suzie Salmon (played by Saoirse Ronan), a lithe 14-year-old girl living in a small town in Pennsylvania, narrating that she is dead. She was murdered in 1973 by a serial killer named George Harvey (played by Stanley Tucci) who happens to be her neighbour across the street.
