Hamburg-based aircraft manufacturer Airbus has started transporting the first aircraft segments to their new assembly line in Tianjin, China. This is a milestone for Boeing's rival in the struggle to dominate Asian markets and produce planes in the People's Republic. The manufacturer will start building aeroplanes there in August 2008, and the first locally-assembled Airbuses will be delivered to Chinese airlines in the first half of 2009.

Michael  - Airbus will fail in China   |10-07-2008 10:21 The Chinese are copying Western technology and then producing at a lower price. They will copy the magnetic leviation train (TransRapid) and start selling it worldwide. They will also build "Aribusses" one day. Airbus is making a big mistake teaching the Chinese how to build planes. Reply

tangoapple   |06-10-2008 20:13 Chinese have their own magnetic leviation technologies. If we didn't help them, Japanese would have pinched the deal. If we didn't sell the technology, how are we supposed to make money. Reply
