According to a current study, more than 10% of Hamburg´s inhabitants has the intention to found their own business within the next 3 years. This means a new trend as employees in the South of Germany used to be very interested in becoming their own boss in the past. The North has been more moderate in this regard. Especially in cities such as Munich, Frankfurt on the Main and Dresden, the number of people running their own show was higher than in other towns due to the favourable economic situation. Among those who dare to establish their own business, engineers and natural scientists form the majority.
