Singapore surprised by Hapag Lloyd’s resistance
The Singaporean shipping company, Neptune Orient lines, is
surprised at the resistance against its acquisition of the Hamburg-based
company Hapag-Lloyd. The employees, the labor union and politicians all argues
against the three billion euros bid from Singapore. They fear, that if Hapag
Lloyd were owned by a foreign country, jobs might be lost and Hamburg’s harbour
could suffer.
