State of Emergency in Schanzenviertel

It started as a street festival and resulted in a catastrophe. 38 arrests, 18 injured, thereof 11 policemen and damage about hundreds of thousands - that's the balance of the Schanzen Festival. Why did the police react only very hesitant? That's what the SPD applied to the Senate of CDU and GAL for information: The SPD-expert for interior affairs, Andreas Dressel, thinks that the autonomous activists wanted to test how far they can go with the new Senate. Senator for the Interior, Christoph Ahlhaus (CDU), sent away all blames by saying that the police raid has made clear that there is no place for hooligans.
